Olympic weightlifting tests aspects of human ballistic limits or explosive strength. They are performed faster and with more mobility and a greater range of motion during their execution than other lifts. When properly executed, the snatch and the clean and jerk are both dynamic and explosive movements yet appear graceful. These are among the toughest lifts to master but deliver a more comprehensive workout than any other weight training regime.
